This song always makes me emotional and you don't even know this band
I think it was in 2019 when the game Gato Roboto was released. I saw the trailer for it and I got curious about the soundtrack. I sometimes listen to electronic music, especially game music, when I want to be inspired about how to produce my next song, so I got to searching on YouTube. What I found was something that was more meaningful.
I clicked on some of the results and the album art for an album called Heavy Petting just called out to me for some reason, so I clicked on it, and it got me to a song called Attic Fire, and it honestly hooked me like at the first 5 seconds, I was like, damn, this is good, so I kept listening. I enjoyed that, so I went to the next track, and to the next one, until I'd listened to the whole album and even had the album repeated like 2–3 times while playing Ori and The Blind Forest. The whole album was just so fun. It sounded very genuine, the songwriting was legitimately good and everything was just amazing.
The album reminded me of Gerard Way's Hesitant Alien. For some reason, some songs even remind me of like songs from the Powerpuff Girls, sometimes B-52s or even surf rock. Like that power-pop, garage rock sound just gives me so much energy and I love it.
But there's one song that just stands out the most; Icicle. That song just lifts me out of dark thoughts. The whole song sounds like a movie to me. It sounds like the perfect song to make people feel better. It's one of the songs where when I'm stressed sitting on a bus, and it plays, it'll just make me tear up and think to myself, "I needed that." There are only a couple of songs that do that to me; Fresh Feeling by Eels, You can Have it All and Green Arrow by Yo La Tengo, Don't I Hold You by Wheat, and Joseph by Helen Stellar. But these are popular bands that are known and celebrated for how good they are. I'm surprised that I felt this from some random band that I accidentally found. Whenever I hear this song, I just always feel all sorts of emotion but always feel glad whenever it ends.
